If the devil was a fisherman, what would HIS BAIT be to catch Godly, Apostolic Young people??? As the years of my life as a young person slowly begin to pass by, it has become more and more prevalent to me WHAT it is that the devil uses as bait to lure away good, Godly, Apostolic young people. I'm not talking about the worldly, carnal young people that have ALWAYS been living their life on the edge, I'm talking about THE GOOD ones!!! I'm talking about the young people that have spent their growing up years working and serving in the kingdom of God. Oh yes, THE DEVIL has a special lure for these young people.

You see he couldn't get them with WORLDLINESS!!! He couldn't get them with television! He couldn't get them with Hollywood! He couldn't get them with immodest dress! He couldn't get them with fornication! He couldn't get them with sports! He couldn't get them with fame and fortune! He couldn't get them with offenses! He couldn't get them with worldly music! He couldn't get them with a career! He couldn't get them with fashion and vanity! He couldn't get them with all the things that he used for the weaker young people!

And like the big bad wolf did in the three little pigs, he got MAD!!! He huffed and he puffed, BUUUUT he couldn't blow down these good, Godly, Apostolic young people!!! I imagine the devil so infuriated, in his frustration he took that rotten can of worms that he used to as bait to lure away all the other young people and threw on the ground scattering the contents everywhere! He hissed, he stomped, AND he whines to all his lil demons as he kicked the empty can of bait into the lake where he was fishing then he's so stupid I imagine him screaming as he punches his fist into the nearest tree and one of the branches just bashes him in the face!!! THEN, after he got over all his fussing, his hissy fit and temper tantrum then the devil began to think, he began to scratch his chin and suddenly a light bulb turned on in his dimwitted little mind...
He said AHA!!! I know what I can get these young people with!!! I can't use that OTHER bait with these young people BECAUSE they're different!!! Because they are GOOD, GODLY young people!!! He's realizing that they aren't lured by the things of this world, therefore he's got to try another tactic. Annnnnnnd THEN the devil remembers something, HE REMEMBERS how in the Bible days, there were those men that wanted to get rid of Daniel and how they could find NO fault in him, so the ONLY thing that they could use AGAINST Daniel was the good things he did...AND they chose to use his prayer life against him.

ANNNNNND I imagine the devil thinks, ya know, I know that in THE END that really didn't work to get rid of DANIEL, buuuuuuuut WHAT A GREAT IDEA!!!! Thats EXACTLEY what i'm going to try using on these young people!!! Soooooo the devil takes our goodness, he takes our godliness and he tries to use it AGAINST US!!!! What is that he is using as bait to lure away GOOD, GODLY, APOSTOLIC YOUNG PEOPLE???

Its the one thing we all want so badly, THE DESIRE TO GET MARRIED!!! Its what every good, godly young person wants. To get married and have a family of their own. To pass this Godly heritage on to their children and their children's children! You all know that you want it!!! And as I've said before, there is NOTHING wrong with us wanting that. Its a Godly desire. However, the devil wants to take that Godliness and use it against you. He knows the longings of your heart and he wants to take that desire and use it as bait to lure you away from God, the very one that gave you that desire.

The older and older I get as a single person, the more and more I'm finding people I love falling for the devil's bait. People that I never thought would fall away. People that I never thought would be lured. People that I grew up with! They were never carnal! They were never worldly! They never fell into sin! They never lived on the edge! They never pushed the limits! Their desires were towards the things of God! They just wanted to be a blessing! They just wanted to reach the lost! They just wanted to be used of God! They kept themselves pure and they waited on God! They watched as all their friends one by one began to get married within the will of God and still they waited on God!!! And they were patient and they waited and they waited and they waited and they waited and THEY WAITED!!!!

But somewhere along the way they got frustrated! They began to question God! I'm soooo TIRED OF WAITING ON YOU GOD????What about ME??? WHAT ABOUT ME GOD??? You've given all my friends Godly spouses, BUT WHAT ABOUT ME??? Annnnnd the devil, he's right there, YES, what about YOU??? You've been such a good young person, look at so and so, they didn't even keep themselves pure, BUUUUUT did you see how God just forgave them and gave them a spouse BEFORE YOU??? That's NOT fair! God's playing favorites!!!

Oh yes, the devil, he is right there with his newest bait!!! Come on, just go ahead and marry that ungodly person from the world, its NOT like your backsliding! Its not like your FORNICATING, your getting MARRIED to them!!! After you marry them, you'll probably be able to win them to God, didn't you see how So-and-so did that??? You can do the same thing!!!

Sooooooo you won't marry someone from the world, just go ahead and marry this young person that your pastor doesn't approve of, what does your pastor know??? He has NO IDEA what its like to wait as long as you have! Its NOT like that person doesn't live for God, just marry them anywayz. Sure you may have to work though some things but AT LEAST YOU'LL BE MARRIED!!! At least you'll FINALLY have a family of your own!!! Oh young person, its all you've EVERRR WANTED, YOU DESERVE TO GET MARRIED!!!

Uh huh, thats JUST the way the devil works. I've seen it happen way to many times to people that I NEVER thought it would happen too! Every time it hurts me! I cry and I cry and I cry for them. If ONLY you could stop them! If only you could make them see...its the devil's bait! He's just using it to lure you away from God. Yes God forgives! Yes you can still make it to heaven! But there's always consequences that you'll have to face and live with for the rest of your life. There is always a price to pay for biting the devils bait.

You say, oh but you don't understand, I'm so lonely! All I've ever wanted was a family of my own! I'll tell you all, I know what its like to be that young person that feels frustrated! I know what its like to watch all your childhood friends get married! To see the people you were in the youth group with have children that are aproaching their teens. To have friends that have been married, have kids, watch their marriage fall apart, see God bless them again with another marriage, more kids and yet I'm STILL SINGLE!!! I'm STILL WAITING!!! And I'm not saying that I'm mad or bitter towards those people, i'm just saying that I WANT what THEY HAVE!!! Yes, I will openly and honestly admit that sometimes there are times when i'm just like, HELLLLLLLOOOOO GOD!!! WHAT ABOUT ME??? What about MAR BEAR???
Buuuuuuuuuuut I REFUSE, to take the devil's bait!!! I may get broken BUT I REFUSE to get BITTER!!! No matter HOW frustrated I may feel, no matter how many tears I may cry, I refuse to listen to the devil's lies!!! "...there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it!' (John 8:44) I refuse to be lured away to something that is outside the will of God for my life!!! The devil has gotten ONE TO MANY OF MY FRIENDS, one TOO MANY OF THE PEOPLE THAT I LOVE, buuuuuuuuut he is NOT going to get ME!!! I've made up my mind, I would rather die a SINGLE OLD MAID that obeyed God, than die a married woman that went outside the will of God for her life to get what she wanted!!!

Young people, SINGLES, whoever you are, however you categorize yourself, We've got to get something way down deep inside of us, it doesn't matter HOW MUCH I want it, the devil is NOT going to get me with this!!! My singleness will NOT destroy me! It will NOT deplete me! The devil will NOT bust me with this desire! It will NOT deplore my soul! It will not ravish my mind and leave me depredated!

The devil is NOT going to use my Godly desire to pull me away from God but I'm going to ALLOW GOD to use it, to bring me closer to Him! I'm going to allow God to use it to develop me! I'm going to allow God to use it to strengthen me! I'm going to allow God to use it to bring Him glory, to bring Him honor! This isn't my dungeon, its my estate that is keeping me. This isn't going to RUIN me, this IS GOING to MAKE ME!!!
DON'T TAKE THE DEVIL'S BAIT!!!
