Yes, true story people, TRUE STORY!!! LOL

Buuuuuuuuuuut let me explain!!!

Soooooo the other day  a lady in the parking lot of where I had been shopping, came over to me and said, I like your hoody and I totally agree with you!!! I was wearing my ITALIAN GIRL hood so without even looking at the lady was like, OH THAAAAAAAANK YOU!!! Are YOU ITALIAN??? (Cuz most of the time people that say that are ITALIAN!!!) She's like, Oh no, i'm actually Chinese! I'm like, OH,  and I look and YES, she IS INDEED CHINESE...I'm like, OH, Oh, OK...Like, I'm feeling pretty SPECIAL right now...BAHAHAHA!!!

She's like, BUUUUUUUT I was adopted by an Italian family and grew up my whole like in Italy! I was like, OH WOW! How cool is that??? I didn't feel QUITE so awkward anymore because, TECHNICALLY, her ethnicity may have been Asian, but by culture, this Chinese lady was INDEED AND ITALIAN GIRL!!! In fact, if anything, even MORE so than me, being raised in The Mother Land!!! I thought that was SUPER COOL!!! Annnnnd JUST HAD TO SHARE!!! She's like, Sooooo yeah, I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU!!!

Wedding Weekend Smorgasbord!!!

Soooooooo I decided that instead of doing separate posts for EVERY EVENT of this weekend, I'm just going to go ahead and do THE WHOLE WEEKEND in ONE POST!!! Sooooooooooo this was an awesome-FUN-REALLY GOOD weekend!!!

So after Hanna picked me up from the airport, we headed straight to her parents house, she dropped me off, picked up the wedding dress and headed to San Jose to begin wedding preparation. I stayed with her mom and family and began doing some food prep. Before she left Hanna was like, Mary if you get hungry or ANYTHING, all you have to do is whisper food and my mom and family will start pulling stuff out!!! AHAHAHAHA!!!

Mocha mom was like, Ok Mary, are you ready to work? I was like, YES MA'AM!!! Because, I  was thinking in my head like, MY MOM would probably reach out of heaven with her cane and bop me over the head if I dared had any other thoughts...I can still hear her ALL THE TIMES I'd be socializing instead of working, MARY, GET IN THE KITCHEN!!! AHAHAHA!!!

Annnnnnnnnnnnd we started off with the tea prep...let me tell you all something, you have NOT had good ice tea UNTIL you have had Mocha Mom's Ethiopian Ice tea...it IS soooooooooo THEBOMB.COM!!! Mmmmmm....

Everyone at the reception was just RAVING about it!!! I heard people all over talking about it, the guy in front of me in the drink line was like, I don't even know what this is, I'm going to try it first, then he put a little in his cup and tasted it and was like, DUUUUUUUUUUUDE you guys, this is THE BEST TEA I'VE EVERRRR HAD!!!

One of the ladies from the church that was in the kitchen was talking to me about it, she was like, I HAVE to get her recipe, I was like, YOU CAN TRY, buuuuuuuut, that's HER OWN SPECIALTY!! Just because you get the recipe, DOES NOT MEAN IT WILL TASTE LIKE HERS!!! Trust me, I've TRIED...it resulted in Stultz choking when he TRIED to drink it!!! LOL For years, one year for my birthday, Hanna gave me all the spices and tea in a jar with directions...yeah...that didn't quite go as planned!!! BAHAHA!!! Then when he finally ACTUALLY tried Sis. Kifle's, Stultz was like, this does NOT taste like YOURS DID...Pshhhhhhhhhh!!!

Annnnnnnnnd here I am with my FIRST plate of Ethiopian food...Very excited!!

Then we drove the hour to the wedding rehearsal in San Jose...

So this past Sunday at the Berkley church, they had Bro. Willowbee(Okay I have NO IDEA how to spell it) preach due to the fact that the newlyweds, Bro. and Sis. Kifle were starting their honeymoon. So Bro. Willowbee preached this really good message that I NEEDED to hear...LOL...buuuut...

I was like totally laughing in my head at one point because he was talking about how we're all waiting for something in life. What he's waiting for and what we all are waiting for may all be different from each other but the fact is the same that we are ALL waiting for something. And he was just talking to us about how we wonder WHY God is making us wait and he said, BUT IN THE WAITING, God is working on us and helping us to become more, etc...

Annnnnnnnnd I'm sitting there and I'm thinking in my head like, okaaaaaaaaaaay I think we ALL KNOW WHAT I'M WAITING FOR...husband... in case you actually didn't know...BAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Then later on i'm thinking about it and I'm like, Okaaaaaaaaay God, I understand about the whole, YOU MAKING ME A BETTER PERSON WHILE I'M WAITING FOR A HUSBAND THING, I get it, I REALLY DO, buuuuuuuuut liiiiiiiike,

HOW MUCH AWESOMER CAN I POSSIBLEY GET AND STILL BE HUMAN???

Weight Loss Progress report!!!

I finally BROKE THROUGH my big stall...

My FIRST fitbit weight loss goal has been met...NOW its on to the next one!!!

CMM at Hannas!!!

 Sooooooooo of course NO TRIP is complete, WITHOUT a CLASSIC MARY MOMENT!!! LOL And this wedding trip, was NO EXCEPTION!!! Several people had joked with me about how they hoped some kind of Classic Mary Moment would happen with me and I was like, Okaaaaaaaaaaaay HONESTLY, i'm really one does NOT happen DURING THE WEDDING!!! After THIS MOMENT HERE, I was like, God puleeeeeze NOOOOOOO ...have MERCY ON ME!!! AHAHA!!!

Thankfully, it didn't happen til THE LAST DAY!!! Phew!!! I was putting my duffel bag in Hanna's car before we started our day so we didn't have to come back later before I got dropped off at the airport. When I was putting my duffel bag in the trunk, I laid her keys on this perfect little ledging on the side and as I did I thought to myself, make sure you get those out so you do NOT lock Hanna's keys in her trunk...

Annnnnnnnnnnd THAT MY FRIENDS,

 was my LAST THOUGHT...Before I DID EXACTLEY THAT...

I just froze in horror as I tried to stop the trunk from slamming shut...with that one lone key sticking out of the crack...

Just peeking out...buuuut to NO AVAIL, not even budging outta there!!!

I was like, Ummmmmmmmmmm HANNNNNNNNNNAAAA!!!

She didn't, buuuuut her mom DID have her extra key...phew...thankfully Hanna was just laughing annnnd reminding me that that was NOT my first CMM on this trip, I had already ummmmm MAYBE locked us out of her house on the night of the wedding...buuuuut hey at least it wasn't like I locked out the bride and groom or something crazy like that!!! PHEW!!! Annnnnnd btw: I highly recommend that ANYONE that is friends with ME, should probably have AAA...I'm just sayin...it comes in handy when your with me and CMMs happen...REALLY...it does!!! LOL

Kifle wedding!!!

Congratulations to my friends, Pastor Kifle(Coco) and Audrey Kifle!!! May God bless your marriage, may you have lots of children and most importantly, may God use you two to bring many souls to heaven!!! Thanks for the years of friendship, many fun times and memories but most importantlym to me, thank you for the prayers and support during the sickness of my mom and for making tge extra effort for flying out and attending her funeral, that meant the world to me!!!

The wedding was beautiful and these two make a stunning couple together!!! Of course I'll do a whole blog post when I get back and more partying the rest of this weekend buuuuuut yeah the wedding was great and IMPORTANT FACT: the food was soooooooo good!!! And I ate waaaaaaaaayyyy to much...I started off with what's IMPORTANT  at the dessert bar and basically could only take a bite of the real food...but those bites were GOOD BITES!!! Lol

Last weekend, my niece's best friend ever, Ash spent the night with her, In the morning, I was joking with the girls as we got ready for church, that I wished I was as a cool as them. I'm like, MAAAAAN, you guys are SOOOOO COOL!!! Like, I really wish there was SOME WAY I could possibly be AS COOL as you two!!! (Obviously, I was joking with them cuz we all know I have NO DOUBT of my absolute and complete COOLNESS!!!;))))  AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I'm sooooooo HAPPY to announce that LAST NIGHT, with his parent's, in my mom's old bedroom, my nephew Joseph Ginty received the gift of the Holy Ghost!!! He says he was so happy, he was jumping up and down praying when he got it and he felt like he was floating and he knows now that he'll be able to go to heaven one day too and he see his grandma again!He says he knows Grandma was watching him in heaven from her golden tablet!!

And I KNOW MY MOM was shaking that golden tambourine!!!  He got it, JUST LIKE THE BIBLE SAYS!!!

Mary Diet Tip!!!

YES, I had my PINK lollipop!!!

Sooooooooo this is my diet tip: When your craving sweets, instead of eating a bunch of candy, try just sucking on a lollipop! It takes A LOT longer to finish a WHOLE lollipop then it does to eat any other candy. There's a good chance that by the time your done with your lollipop, your sweet craving will be gone and you'll have eaten a whole lot less than the amount of candy you would have eaten in that time!!! It works people!!! AND if your someone that just munches the sucker down as well, I don't know what to tell you, YOU my friend, HAVE ISSUES that are beyond my help, I suggest PRAYING about it!!!!

The highest peak!!!

The first time I hiked my big mountain was back at the end of last October. One of the specific things I remember is the further I hiked, the better the view was. I remember when I wasn't too far from the top, I stopped a lady coming down to ask her how much further the hike up was. She told me that it wasn't to much more and that before to long I would basically come to the top of the mountain and that the view was beautiful there, no need to try and go to the peak, she never did, it was just a waste of time since there was already a beautiful view.

.

However, when I got to the spot that I knew the lady had described to me, I looked at the Phoenix Valley below me and it was indeed BEAUTIFUL, buuuuuuuut, I couldn't help but wonder what it would look like, from THE VERY TOP OF THE HIGHEST MOUNTAIN PEAK!!!

.

So of course, I couldn't help but push myself for 15 more torturous moments UP the very steepest part of that mountain, till FINALLY I was on the peak!!! It was stunning!!! It was SOOOOO worth that extra hike up!!! I couldn't help but wonder about that lady coming down, WHY hadn't she ever gone ALL THE WAY UP??? WHY not to THE HIGHEST PEAK????

.

As usual, I couldn't help but see the similarities between this and our walk with God! How often do we come to a place in our relationship with Jesus, where things are so good, that we don't push ourselves to go to the next level with him?! Think about those moments, those times in life, when we've come SO FAR in our walk with God, that when we look, the view with him is SO AMAZING, we think, HOW in the world could it get any better than this???

.

BUT what if there's a higher peak that God wants to take you to? What if He has something MORE for you than what you already have? The last time I hiked this particular mountain, on my way up stopped to talk with a man who was resting with his young daughter. We got to talking and he was telling me how he's from Chicago, and there are NO MOUNTAINS THERE, everything was just flat. He was in such awe of the mountain and of hiking. He said that he had never done anything like this at all. He said that his wife and his older daughter had kept hiking up but that this daughter had enough and so he was just waiting with her. He was like, I mean, this right here is still so high and the view is so great, he'd never done anything like  this before and was still so thrilled with what they'd done.

.

In my mind that man reminds me of how we are when we're first starting out in our walk with God. Everything we've done is SO NEW, and EVERY STEP TOWARDS GOD is indeed a GOOD THING!!! It's like how the view for this man was already so amazing and that's how it is living for God. Its like in Acts 19 when Paul talked to disciples, men that were ALREADY followers of Christ, "He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost." (Acts 19:2) These followers of Christ OBEYED and went that step further in their relationship with Jesus. They went to a higher peak!!

.

What IF there is a higher peak that God wants to take you to in your walk with him? What if God has something more for you that what  you already have? What if there is something you need to do or change or give up in your life that will bring you to that highest peak? I encourage you today to go further with Jesus. Make the sacrifice, PUSH yourself up the steep climb!!! Sure its ok, to be like that man and his daughter, to rest and take a moment to enjoy the view , BUUUUT DON'T STAY THERE!!! 

."Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee ..." (2 Timothy 1:6) " 

Go my friends...

 GO to THE HIGHEST PEAK!!!!

Kids say THE FUNNIEST things!!!

So last week I'm teaching my Bible class about when Peter denied Jesus!!! The kids in class are younger, 5-7 year olds, so they're having a little difficulty understanding the significance of how horrible this event was!!! This one girl is like, WEEEEELLLL Jesus told him that he was GOING TO DO IT, sooooooooo Peter was JUST OBEYING Jesus when he did it!!! LOL

.

Sooooo i'm like, NOoooooo Jesus didn't TELL PETER TO DO THIS TO HIM, he said that Peter WOULD DO IT because he wasn't truly strong enough to stand up for him! But Peter told Jesus that he NEVER would deny him, buuuuut only a few hours later HE DID!!!

.

Then to really help explain it to them, I'm like, Imagine YOUR VERY BEST FRIEND, and someone asks YOUR BEST FRIEND IF THEY KNOW YOU and YOU are embarrassed of your very best friend and YOU SAY, I don't KNOW HER!!! Wouldn't that make you feel sad??? The kids ALL nod their head very seriously, annnnnd this other girl gasps...her mouth is hanging open...Her eyes narrow...I can see that the light bulb has FINALLY GONE OFF IN HER HEAD and she says...

One of my friends gave my sister and I a daily calender with crazy facts, annnnnnnnnd I decided that SINCE, Wednesday is THE MIDDLE of the week, I would use some of them to give you all a MIDDLE OF THE WEEK BRAIN BOOSTER...never mind the fact that THE FIRST ONE is being posted a DAY LATE!!! Heeeeeey ain't nobody sending me, MY MIDDLE OF THE WEEK BRAIN BOOSTERS!!!
