My brother’s obituary!!!

Soooooo the family asked me to write my brother’s obituary and tbh at first I had a lot of difficulty!!! I was just sitting there about to cry and thinking, THE LAST THING I want to be doing right now is writing my little brother’s obituary!!! Buuuuuuut then I prayed and God helped me!!!

.

John Isaiah Ginty was born on November 21st, 1988 and passed on July 18th, 2023. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth; children Bethany, Anthony and Richard; his father Joseph; his siblings Theresa, Joseph and Jewel, Mary, Abraham and Grace; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances.

John was born to Joseph and Frances Ginty. He was the second to youngest of five children. As a child, he loved playing with his hot wheels, listening to Adventures in Odyssey, playing black-jelly bean with his two brothers, reading the Hardy Boys with his mom, little owl with his dad, riding his bike with the neighborhood crew, working on cars with Grandpa and eating bologna sandwiches on sourdough.

.

John grew up going to church, church camps and church conferences. He received the gift of the Holy Ghost and was baptized in Jesus name at age 8. He was a typical Pentecostal kid, loving Jesus and quoting from the Bible, Acts 2:38 and Deuteronomy 6:4.

.

At the age of 16, John was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic Leukemia. He spent many months in the hospital receiving chemo and went into remission. During this hard time as a teenager, he kept an optimistic outlook and a smile. He said that during one of the hardest evenings in the hospital with his mom, he learned what it was to truly have peace in the middle of a storm. After remission, he went on and graduated from Paradise Valley High School in 2007.

.

As an adult, John worked for the Paradise Valley School District and took care of his buddy Arman Jordan. But what he really loved to do the most was cooking. He developed his talent for cooking and baking and started a small side business called  John's Italian Kitchen. He was known for his New York style Cheesecake, fettuccine alfredo, and pizza. He was very good at  anything he put his mind into making.

.

The love of John's life was Elizabeth, his childhood friend and teenage sweetheart. They were married on September 22nd, 2012 and  honeymooned on a cruise to Mexico. Despite the doctor telling his mom at 16 that he may not be able to have children due to the chemotherapy, John and Elizabeth were blessed with three miracle children, Bethany, Anthony and Richard.

 .

John was a family man who enjoyed cooking with his kids and teaching them about cars. As a family they enjoyed going to the park, going on walks and decorating for the holidays together. His wife and children were everything to him.

.

In June of 2021 John's Leukemia relapsed. He went back into the hospital once again and began to fight the battle against Leukemia. He began chemo treatment and went into remission. He then received a bone marrow transplant from his sister, Mary, in September of 2021.

.

Over a year later in October of 2022, he went into the hospital with complications from the bone marrow transplant. Despite his sickness, he cooked in the hospital room for his nurses and anyone he could feed. He fought a long battle in the hospital until February of 2023. He then returned home and to the best of his ability tried to live a normal life. He put his heart into making cooking and food review videos for J Bros Cooking, a YouTube channel he started with his brother Joe. However, his body was worn out and his full health was never restored to him.

.

On July 15th, he went into the hospital for back and heart pain. After running tests, the doctors let John and Elizabeth know that his Leukemia had returned for the third and final battle. During his life, John endured much suffering, but he had many miracles as well.

.

He once said as a 16-year-old, that having faith wasn't believing that God would heal him of his Leukemia, but trusting God even if he did not. On July 18th, 2023, John received the greatest miracle of all. His weary soul was restored and his body was made whole as he crossed over to the other side.

.

"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." (Revelation 21:4)
