Falling in love!!!

I want to FALL IN LOVE!!!

Okaaaaaaaaaaaay isn't that in the heart of just about every typical female???

.

This summer, I discovered something specific that I want to be totally and completely in love with!!! One day, as I was running around with my friends, Brandon and Hanna, the bride and groom, well, we're running around together doing all the typical wedding errands. We stopped for a break and while Hanna and I did whatever, Brandon sat there and read his Bible.

.

When it was time to leave Hanna said come on lets go! Brandon looked up from his Bible and was like, wait, just let me read one more chapter in my Bible! She kinda hesitated, since we were in a rush and had a MILLION AND ONE things to do, and he says, please?! Like a little boy begging to play with his favorite toy for five more minutes. She was like, well, how can I say NO to that??? I was like, yeah, WOW, your marrying a GOOD MAN HANNA!!! (Anywayz, back to our gossip session...JUUUUUUUUUUUST KIDDING!!! Seriously, that was a joke people!!! LOL) Annnnnnnnd just like that I thought, I WANT THAT!!!

Your probably thinking that I mean I want a man like that, buuuuuuuuut NO!!! I want that in myself!!! I want to be that same way with reading my Bible!!!

I WANT TO FALL IN LOVE

WITH GOD'S WORD!!!

 

Of course I LOVE God's word!!! I read it! I listen to it, but so often it's out of a dutiful love to God and not out of a consuming desire. Of course love, even in a marriage has both a love out of duty and out of a consuming passion and desire, there are times when our dutiful love and devotion to God carries us through, but still, I want to experience that all consuming passion and desire to God as well. If you all could have just heard it in his voice, it wasn't to show off to us, TRUST ME, we're all life family, he really just wanted ONE MORE CHAPTER, before he went on his day...just a little bit more!

I want that for myself!!! I want to fall fully and completely IN LOVE with God's word! I want it to consume my life, my thoughts, my dreams. I want more than just a dutiful love, renew that passion within me. Draw me closer to you, teach me your ways, saturate my heart, my life...

Underneath the green grass...

This past week, while at A Mountain Apart Camp, I found this secluded, peaceful little spot underneath this beautiful weeping willow tree near the pond. It was soooo pretty and quiet I just liked to sit there sometimes and think and just contemplate on things. 

Weeeeelll the spot that I was sitting on the ground beneath the tree was really dry and barren of much grass. While I was sitting there, I looked out and saw this BEAUTIFUL, tall green grass just blowing gracefully and I thought that I might like to move over there and sit in it and enjoy its luciousness, but then I changed my mind and thought NO I like it where I am all just stay where I am, but the WHOLE time I kept looking out and noticing how pretty that grass over yonder was.

After a few minutes, someone on the little bride across the pond saw me and yelled out to me. So rather than have a conversation yelling across the pond to each other, I jumped up and started walking over to her. As I was walking around the pond I thought, OH, I'm going to walk through that beautiful, willowy, green grass, just so I can feel it against me.

 Well as I began walking through it, much to my dismay, I felt a wetness and as I continued to walk, my feet began to squish into mud! UGH...all over my ADORABLE flip flops...YUCK!!! And     I tried to get out but I kinda sunk a little and even started to slip before I got out of it.

.

Once I got out and I was walking over to talk to my friend I thought MAN, that grass looked sooooooo pretty but it SURE was a BIG HASSLE walking through it. Really, it was NOTHING but a buncha trouble. It had looked soooooooo pretty  and perfect from the surface, buuuuuuuut I had NO way of knowing what was underneath.

.

Meanwhile, my hard, dry little spot across the way seemed like it truely was the perfect little spot. Because, despite, its dullness and hard barren ground, it was safe. 

ANNNNND of course it got me to thinking about life. Sometimes in life, the ways that are right can seem sooooo boring and dull. You can look out and see something in the world that just seems like it is oh so beautiful and perfect and you want it. Maybe it goes against everything that you have been taught...but all you can see is the surface beauty of the matter, underneath there is MUCK but you can't see it because its covered by the beauty. 

.

The Bible says, "There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." (Proverbs 16:25) You can't see what's underneath. You have NO IDEA the harm that the choice can bring you. Its a slippery, sinking path. Your gonna loose your footing and its going to bring you down.

.

I'm telling you, if any choice your considering to make, it doesn't matter HOW wonderful it may make you feel, IF it EVERRR goes against the word of God, it  is wrong! It is wrong! IT IS WRONG!!! Don't leave the safety of God's haven. No matter what you may be seeing out yonder, God's ways are ALWAYS right. God's ways are strong. His ways may not be glamorous and pretty but they are safe and secure. The ways of God will keep you. You can depend on God's way. God's way will NEVER fail you. 

You know what I did WHEN I was done talking to that friend?

I WENT BACK!!! I went back to my safe little haven beneath the beautiful willow tree. BUUUUUUUT...This time I WALKED AROUND the tall willowy grass and I thankfully and happily sat down on a dry, bland, rather UGLY ground...BUT it was secure and it was SAFE!!!

.

Don't leave God's way, BUUUUT if you have, If you've messed up, made a mistake, made a mess, you don't have to stay there stuck in the muck, JUST GO BACK. Go back to what is right. Go back to the safety of God. 

"Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure..."

God's Word!!!

I've been thinking a LOT about some things lately...Pondering matters and not coming up with the right answer. However, today Bro. Sam Karlson preached a message about the word of God. It was such a simple message but it spoke so clearly. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet...ALL of the answers to even the HARDEST questions of life CAN be found IN THE BIBLE!!! When I've prayed and prayed and prayed and still don't know what to do...I NEED to read MORE and MORE and MORE of God's word!!! There is NO problem in life that CAN NOT somehow be solved THROUGH the word that God has written to His people! I remember one time Bishop Abbott asking us what do we think is MORE important; Praying OR reading your Bible? Of course I kinda thought prayer was. However, Bishop Abbott said that although they are basically equally important, " Praying is YOU talking to God, but THE BIBLE is God speaking to US!!!" I was like, oh WOW! AND if you think about it, we wouldn't even KNOW about praying if it weren't for the word of God!

The Bible should be the foundation of our education...

The Bible is the heart of ALL MATTERS!!!

.

The word of God IS LOVE...God's love!!!

.

The Bible should be our covering, the roofing in our homes...

.

The word of God will lead us and Guide us

and tell us where to go when we don't know which way to choose!

.

The Bible will light our way when everything is dark...

The word of God should be bound to our heart!

.

The Bible IS OUR SALVATION!!!

.

The word of God is our weapon to fight OFF the enemy!

.

The BIBLE brings us eternal life with Christ.

.

 You CAN NOT lose a battle with the word of God!!!

For God's word is ALWAYS right!!!

.

The Bible is how we should BEGIN and END our day!!!

Thy WORD have I HID IN MY HEART...that I might not SIN against thee!!!

I Pray God, ENGRAVE your word in me, that it may NEVER be erased!!!
