Soooooooooooooo my aunt in NYC kept saying that she thinks Lucas looks like me! And of course I LOOOOOOOOVED her comment, buuuuuuuuuuut I HONESTLY DID NOT SEE IT!!!

Then she said it again and I was telling my sister, I mean I REALLY WANT him to look like me, buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut I don't think he does!!!

Then she was like, I didnt think so either, buuuuuuuuut then I was remembering your baby pictures, and he DOES LOOK LIKE YOU when you were a baby go look!!!

Sooooo I went and looked at this picture I have of me and my mommy poo from when I was born....

What I wanted to look like...

As a child, I was always fascinated by EVERYTHING that was different than me!!! Weeeeeellll ACTUALLY, come to think of it, as an adult, I pretty much STILL AM fascinated by everything that is different than me, HOWEVER, as a child, I wasn't just fascinated by these differences, I WANTED THEM!!!

As a little girl, I wished that I had almond-shaped eyes, bright, wildly curly red hair, or my hair in braids, chocolate skin, freckles, braces, a retainer, glasses, the only thing I was completely down with was my eye color...because they were bright...ooooh annnnnnd THE BIG GAP BETWEEN MY TWO FRONT TEETH!!! I could spit water SO far through it!!! AND nobody I knew had a gap like that!!! I LOVED that big O gap!!! AHAHAHA!!! (Btw: I still can spit really far if anyone wants to see!!!)

I was always enthralled by what was different from me!!! Its NOT that I had a bad self-image of myself, I was just SOOOO attracted to what was different than ME!!! I just thought white skin was SO BORING! Everybody I KNEW had WHITE SKIN.

 Can you imagine how I woulda looked had God let me design me????

 I'm soooo thankful that God

was my designer and NOT ME!!!

 However, I AM STILL very much drawn to and interested in what is different than me!!! I'm still intrigued by other cultures and ethnicities, The difference now tho, is that I NO LONGER want to try and be anything other than what God made me to be!!!  Not because I think my design is better, buuuuut simply because this is what God chose for ME to look like!!!

Looking GOOD Self esteem tip! :)

Sooooo this past Tuesday evening when I went out with Jac, one of the cooks saw me and asked me if I was out on a special occasion or something cuz I had something in my hair and a flower on my sweater and ya know my hair was done! I personally did NOT think it was really fancy...So he was like what's going on? I was like, OH NOTHING...

I just like to look good!!!

He just laughed and was like, WELL there is NOTHING wrong with that!!! Nothing WRONG WITH THAT!!! LOLOLOL It was soooooo funnnnnny we were all laughing!!! Seriousley tho people, one of the best ways to feel good about yourself is to just LOOK GOOD!!!

There have been times where my brother's walk into the house and LOOK AT ME and are like, WHERE ARE YOU GOING??? I'm like NO WHERE!!! They're like, OK who's ALL THIS FOR as they kinda point out what i'm wearing...I'm just like ME!!! :))) Me annnnnnd GOD and ANYONE else that cares to see the sight of me looking GOOD!!! LOL!

Someone recently said, Man Mary! Your always getting compliments blah, blah, blah...it must be nice to be THE PRETTY ONE!!! I'm like NOOOOOO! Its soooooo NOT like that!!! I don't get compliments when I'm in a rush, roll outta bed, throw on whatever and run out the door lookin like WHITE TRASH!!! Trust me, I'm just an average looking girl...I just take a lil time everyday and FIX MYSELF UP!!!



I'm NOT talking about like dressing fancy-shmancy in heals and wearing like Sunday church outfits everyday! You can rock a jean skirt and still look waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay cute if you make it into an outfit! Find a simple hair-do that is easy but cute, put something in your hair add a few accessories and you wouldn't believe JUST HOW MANY COMPLIMENTS you will get from non-church people!!! Looking GOOD can be a WITNESS to the people of the world!!!

I think sometimes us girls get into the habit of ONLY fixin ourselves up really nice if we know that a cute guy is going to around! BUUUUUUT we should be in the habit of fixin ourselves up all the time!!! IF you fix yourself up it will build your self esteem and the better you feel about yourself, the more attractive of a person you will be!!! Don't do it for a guy...do it for YOU and most importantly do it for GOD!!! After all...

we ARE representing HIM!!!

Lookin in the mirror...

Soooo I was lookin in the mirror on Sunday...at church...AFTER the service...And I was just admiring the handiwork of GOD...and I turned to my brother and I 'm like MANNN...God did a GOOOOOD job when he made me!!! And my brother just kinda looks at me and shakes his head... and i'm just like...okaaaaaaaaaaay you soooo know its THE TRUTH!!! God did a GOOOOOOD job when he made me...

ANNNND like right as soon as I say LOOK AT ME...my foot gives out and the next thing I know I'm trippin and ALMOST fall flat on my face!!! My brother just starts LAUGHING at me!!! AHAHAHA! OMY!!! It was pretty funnnny...he's just like..yeah i'm looking!!! HAHAHA!!! I guess thats what I get for being FULL OF IT!!!
