I LIIIIIIKE YOUR UNICORN!!!

Soooooooo in February, for Presidents day being a day off VACAY day, we decided to take a little trip up to Prescott AZ! The plan was to eat breakfast, HIKE and EAT lunch there, buuuuuuuuut it ended up snowing up there, which for us Phoenix Arizonans is just AMAAAAAAAAAZING!!! (Btw: I have a LOVE/HATE relationship with snow! I LOVE to go to the snow and spend a day in it! Sledding, tubing, snow angels, snowmen and a few snowball fights, buuuuuuuuut I would NOT want to LIVE IN IT!!! After a day, i'm ready to part wayz! Buuuuuut can't wait to spend that one day in it again NEXT YEAR! Kinda like some people...AHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!;)

.

So the day turned into a day of eating breakfast at Cuppers, playing in the snow, (No one wanted to hike the mountain with me in snow! Psssh!) SHOPPING, eating AND MORE playing in the snow!!! Well people just LOOOOOOOOOOOVED my outfit!!! I wore a blue hoodie, with my snowman cap...I was very warm and snuggly annnnnnd apparently ADORABLE...not to toot my own horn buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut TOOT, TOOT!!! ;) Okaaaaaaaaaaay, no, this was ACTUALLY this was everyone else's words, I mean, I wasn't arguing with them on the matter,

.

BUUUUUT HEEEEEEEEYYY, if you look cute, YOU LOOK CUTE!!! And apparently, I had the adorable fluffy-snow-lady look going on and was embracing WHOLE-HEARTEDLY!!!

So people were just coming up to me all over saying they liked my hat, that I looked cute, they liked my outfit etc...This little old lady was following me at the mall, trailing me as I went into the bathroom, I hear this, excuse me, excuse me, so I turn and see this adorable lil old lady! (No disrespect in calling her a lil old lady, I plan on being an adorable, fluffy old lady some day!) So I turn to her and she's holding up her phone and was like, would you mind if I took your picture? Your outfit is just SOOOOOO CUTE! I really want a picture of it to show people! I was like, SURE, instantly ready to pose, OF COURSE!!! I mean people were just REALLY loving my snow-lady hat, a homeless man asked me for it, I just smiled, I mean IF he didn't have a hat, I woulda given it to him, buuuuuuuut he had a very nice, new and warm looking hat to keep him warm, if I gave him mine, then I wouldn't have one, ANNNNND I wasn't about to trade...Jus sayin! Sooooo I just smiled.

My favorite compliment went to the little old man that complimented me, I was walking by him an he says to me with this thick drawl, "I LIIIIIIIIKE YOUR HAT!" I was like, Oh, THANK YOU! He was like, "A UNICOOOOORN, I liiiiiiiiiiiike that!!!" I was like, Okaaaaaaaaaay that was OFFICIALLY my favorite compliment of the day!!! I mean, everyone was freaking out and complimenting me on my hat because it had snowed and my hat was a snow-man, and this brotha just completely missed the whole point!!! (Or exchanged the carrot nose point for a unicorn-horn's point!) Buuuuuuuuuuuuuut heeeeeeey, I DO LIKE UNICORNS!!! Ahahahahaaaaa!!!

I told that to one of the girls that used to live with me but had now turned away from God. She looked at me in surprise, because she knew how much I loved her and how I hated seeing her sad. I told her that while I wanted her to be happy, I ultimately wanted to see her saved. What does happiness matter if you happily party your soul into eternal damnation. NOPE, it's NOT all about what make YOU HAPPY, it's all about WHAT MAKES GOD HAPPY...Make God happy, and YOU'LL BE HAPPY!!! (If not here, on the other side, FOREVERRRR!!!)

Sooooooo this goes down as THE BEST AWKWARD compliment of 2019 thus far, it's only March, SOOOOOOOOO it could be outdone by the end of the year!!!

Some Jehovah Witnesses came to our door and even though I don't believe what they believe, I strive to be a witness back and invite them to our church, but it's a struggle, cuz I don't want to lead them on, I finally had to tell a girl after coming to my door for 6 months, well I'm actually not interested, I have a church that I go to faithfully, I just didn't want to be rude because we knock doors as well so I know what it's like to be on the receiving end and ended it with buuuuuut if you ever want to experience the power of the Holy Ghost, just go to 124th street and Shea...weeeeeeellll...she hasn't been back! Buuuuuuuuuuuuuut there was another crew that came back...

ANNNNNNNNNNNNNND these ladies, after I invited them to our church were like, well we have a church right up the street that your welcome to come too, there's a youth group for you too you know. I started laughing when they invited me to join their youth group. They were like, Weeeeellll you look VERY YOUNG!!! Soooooo I asked my favorite question: HOW OLD DO YOU THINK I AM???

The one lady says, OH, I KNOW, (The way she said it was like, I know your NOT a teenager but your still just a kid!) Your 25!!! The other one nodded, YES, 25!!! I GLEEFULLY said, Actually...

35!!!

Idk what they were more shocked about, MY BEING 35 OR the idea of me speaking in tongues, either way, they haven't been back!!! What do you guys think;

So my brother, Abie Baby was preaching at church a few Sunday Eves ago and in his message he was talking about Job, as he was preaching and he was talking about how his one friend just stared at him 7 days before he even said anything to him, annnnnnnnnd as he was telling this story, I was suddenly struck by an inspiration FROM GOD, yes, I said, from God!!! ;)

Why the name!?!?

I was listening to Focus On The Family earlier and the man was telling a story about a little boy that was lost in the grocery store. So this little boy started calling out his mommy's name! He said, "Heather! Heather! HEATHER!!!" Finally his mommy heard him and came and rescued him from being lost. But after she hugged him and calmed him down she asked him WHY he called her Heather and not just MOMMY??? And the little boy said, because Mommy, there are A LOT of mommies in this store...BUUUUUUUUUUUT I WANTED...

MY MOMMY!!!

Now, this had absolutely NOTHING to do with the point of the story that the radio was saying, buuuuuuuuuut this got me to thinking, when I was in college, writing for the college paper, I was writing an inspiring story and I was quoting the girl that the story was written about and I wrote, that she said she found love in the arms of Jesus. My teacher, who was a "Christian" said, how about, INSTEAD of saying in the arms of JESUS, how about we paraphrase her to say she found love in the arms of GOD! I was just kinda like, okaaaaaay buuuuut I don't really see WHYYYY??? I mean, after all, JESUS IS GOD!!!

.

 She said, well because when you say God, people are MORE ACCEPTING of that, because almost everyone believes in God in some sort of way or the other. Muslims, Jews, Hindu, Budhists, Bahai, ...they all believe in God, so they won't mind reading God, buuuuut WHEN YOU SAY, Jesus, now your being exclusive, because most people believe in God, buuuuut they don't believe that JESUS IS GOD!!! Weeeeeeeeellll...this DID NOT SET WELL WITH ME AT ALL!!! I mean, I HAD NO problem just saying God, UNTIL she explained to me WHY! That's what I call watering down and diluting the message, compromising...annnnd YES...also the reason WHY I didn't make it as a Christian in a career of Journalism!!! LOL

You wanna know WHY I like to say JESUS, soooo much WHEN I PRAY??? Bcause, this world is filled with gods, buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut...when I have a problem, when I have a need, when I am afraid, when I need a shelter, when I need a friend, when I'm scared and alone, I DON't just want any o god, I SAY JESUS!!!

BECAUSE...

I WANT MY GOD!!!

Happy Birthday MOM!!!

We had a remembrance dinner in honor of my mom last Tuesday, ate her favorite pastas, fussili and Aye-UH-OY....(No idea how to spell that last one so I just wrote it like it sounds...LOL) her birthday was the next day! She died 2 days before her 63rd birthday, probably her best birthday everrrrrr!!! There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about her or miss her, but I'm glad she made it to the end!!! Sometimes I think I look like my mom, even tho I know I don't really, buuuut sometimes I like to think I do!!! She tells this story of when we first moved from NYC and people at our church asked her how they let her adopt the 2 little blue-eyed kids! Cuz you know back in the day skin color-matching was a kinda bigger deal in adoptions) And my mom was like, what?! THESE ARE MY BABIES!!! Always your lil Vanilla-glitter-ball-O-FLUFF mommy pooh!!!

Which would you rather???

Sooooooooooooo on the way to SoCal, as I said earlier we were listening to Anne Of Green Gables and Anne and her friend discuss this question, Which would you rather be: Divinely beautiful, or dazzingly  clever or angelically good?! We all discussed it annnnnnd I'm just like, okaaaaaaaaaaaay sooooooooooooooooo BASICALLY WHAT YOUR ASKING ME IS:

Okaaaaaaaaaaay so for REALZ tho, I think out of these three I would pick DAZZINGLY CLEVER!!! Just cuz it seems like if your really clever you wouldn't really need to all that good looking! Plus it leans more onto your personality and I would NEVERRRR want to lose my personality...because, personality is ME!! Looks is only what HOLDS ME!!! What holds me can be damaged or lost or whateverrrr...buuuuuut I would never want to actually lose ME...cuz I mean....ME IS ME...I would pick my Maryness over good looks a million times over!!!

No Alternatives!!!

What are my options??? That is a question that we ask quite frequently. We are living in a day and age and a society that is BIG on alternatives...Options...choices. You could be on the airplane getting a meal and there is going to be someone that doesn't like what they are being given and they will say, What's my alternative??? Resturaunt menus are filled with OPTIONS for all the different eaters.

There is a vegetarian section, gluten free, low-carb, fat free... People want OPTIONS!!! People want ALTERNATIVES!!!

.

Everyone wants to hear an alternative to what they should do. Someone Is diagnosed with cancer and the first thing they will be told is, their OPTIONS!!! A girl gets pregnant and people will tell her, these are YOUR OPTIONS!!! There is alternative music, alternative thinking, alternative schools, alternative educations, alternative lifestyles, alternative religions, alternative marriage there is EVEN alternative meat for vegetarians!!!

.

What really perturbs me is when people think of living for God as just an option. That alternative thinking seeps into our everyday living. But there has to be a time in our life that we decide when it comes to living for God, there are NO ALTERNATIVIVES!!! There are NO OTHER OPTIONS. If things don't turn out the way I planned, OH WELL, I'm gonna KEEP ON LIVING FOR GOD!!! Fixed! It bothers me so much when I hear people say, "I ALMOST backslid!"

.

I don't say that to sound holier-than-thou, I say it because it is worrisome to me. It means that somewhere in their mind backsliding IS an option in their life. We can't live in a way that says, well I WANT to live for God, buuuuuuuuut if it doesn't work out, I guess I'll jus go back to the world! I have a dear friend that I was extremely close to. I watched as God picked them up from a life of NOTHINGNESS and miraculously changed their life for the better, buuuuuut they NEVER could get it out of their mind that GOING BACK TO THE WORLD, wasn't an option.

.

There is a bumper sticker that says, "Try Jesus, if you don't like Him, the devil will always take you back!" We can't live with that mentality, we can't just TRY Jesus!!! We have to BURN all of our bridges of alternatives and options in our life till we can say, I can't go back, BECAUSE I HAVE NOTHING LEFT TO GO BACK TOO!!! We have to say, THIS IS IT!!! This is my ONLY OPTION!!! There is NO PLAN B!!! I have NO ALTERNATIVES!!!

.

I can honestly say that the thought of backsliding does NOT enter my mind! You know WHY??? Not because I'm ultra spiritual, buuuuuuut BECAUSE I have NO OTHER OPTIONS!!! Its like what Peter said to Jesus, "Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life." (John 6: 67:68)

.

Yes, there are times that its HARD!!! Yes there are times that there is sin in my life! Yes there are times that I need an attitude adjustment!!! Yes there are times that I'm confused, bewildered, frustrated, sad, mad, devastated, heartbroken... Buuuuut its like Peter says, TO WHOM SHALL I GO???  I have no alternative for myself outside of a life devoted to living for my God!!! WHAT ELSE IS THERE??? I have NO other plans! I have NO other options!

 LIVE FOR GOD???

I have NO alternatives!!!

Saw these snow-capped mountains on the way to SoCal this past Friday, listening to Focus on the families audio drama of Anne Of Green Gables, I couldn't help but think how fitting  that quote was for the beauty around us!!! God has created such a beautiful world!!! "Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them." (Genesis 2:25)

So I'm at Starbucks with my laptop the other day writing and THE FUNNIEST THING EVERRRR happened!!! I got up to use the restroom and there was a man walking in front of me to the restroom as well, men and woman restrooms were located right by each other...

and the man walks into the men's and then waits and holds the door for me, my hand is on the woman's about to open it, but he's just stand there all gentlemanly like waiting for me...

I mean GENERALLY SPEAKING, I really appreciate it when a man holds the door open for me, it's very kind and considerate of them, I always smile and say thank you, BUUUUUUUT...this is THE DOOR TO THE MEN'S ROOM HE IS HOLDING FOR ME...i dont wanna be rude buuuuuuuuut... lol...i just kinda pause and smile at him and continue to open the ladies room...in that moment he realized what he was doing and we both busted up!!! It was HILARIOUS!!! *Chivalry-sigh!!! 

 I think he was REALLY embarrassed cuz he was sitting behind me and he had just gotten there but when i got back he was packing his stuff up and leaving!!! The funniest part was that it TOTALLY reminded me of something i would do!!! Now you all know what this blog would be like, IF I WERE A MAN!!! 😂😇

The difference between him and I tho, is that wouldn't have left!!! Bahahahaha

I mean really, IF I LEFT THE SCENE every time I did something embarrassing, there'd be NO SCENES left in my life!!! AHAHAHAHA!!!

Just wait til you taste it!!!

So my new little running partner for the 5k races is my nephew Odin! We recently ran the pizza run and the way it was set up, the track looped back around through the park so the people that were the fastest would pass the slower people.

.

Well there was a particular runner that I noticed that was one of the first runners to pass back through, and it wasn't just because he was tall and handsome and fast that I noticed him, if so I would have forgotten about him by now. But what struck me about this guy as so memorable was that after he completed the race as one of the first to complete it, he may have even come in first, I'm not sure, but after he completed the race, he ran back through the course towards all of us runners that were still finishing the course...

.

And as he ran towards us runners that he didn't even know, he began yelling encouraging things to us. He was saying stuff like, come on guys, keep going! Don't give up! Just wait til you taste the pizza it's so good! Come one, come on, come on!!!! And he kept running, going past my group to the people further back and the ones even further back, cheering more and more for his fellow runners that he didn't even know.

.

And in my mind I couldn't help but conjure an image of what the Bible says about the cloud of witnesses in heaven, "Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses...

.

There are people in heaven, that have already made it, that have completed the course and they're cheering us on. Telling us to keep going! It could be someone you love that has finished, but there are others that have never seen us but they want us to have what they now have.

 

 I imagine them saying COME ON! Keep Going! It's worth it! There's no heartache, no offense, no hurt, no disappointment that is worth missing heaven over! Your so close! Your almost here! Soon you'll be dancing on streets of gold!  You can do it! Don't give up! The crystal river is so near, just wait till you sit down to the marriage supper of the Lamb!

 

JUST WAIT TILL YOU TASTE IT!!!

Just wait till you see Jesus face! Pretty soon you'll be touching His nail-scarred hands! I know your tired, buuuuuut don't stop running!
