My official diagnosis!!!

Soooooooo if you know my nephew Odin, he very freely tells everyone that he had Autism, and he will then ask you, what you have!!! Hi, I'm Odin, I have Autism and so-so-and-so has Downs Syndrome, what do you have?! Before anyone can get offended I just shrug my shoulders and say, heeeeeeeyyyy we're ALL SPECIAL, some of us just MORE THAN OTHERS!!! ;)))))

Well in the past, O has asked me what I have and i'm always like, IDK O, you tell me, WHAT DOES AUNT MARY HAVE???

.

Well the other day, Odin officially gave me my diagnosis of WHAT I HAVE and it's soooooooo fitting!!! So he's sitting in the hallway playing and he says something to me and I say, Ok seriously SOOOOO RANDOM! He says, no it wasn't! I'm like, YES IT WAS!!! He's like, No aunt Mary, I'm not random you are! I'm like, NO, you are!!! He says, 

NOOOOO Aunt Mary, I have AUTISM, 

YOU HAVE RANDOM!!!! 

 When he said that I just busted up laughing because it is literally THE MOST ACCURATE diagnosis of me. I am soooooooooo random!!!! We could go in conversation anywhere from, outreach and lost souls, to I wonder who potty trained Adam and Eve???? Then on to, OMW! last night I dreamed it was raining fluffy puppies!!!!

Classic Auntie Moment!!!

Sooooooooo on Saturday, I went with my brother Abie and his family and my sister and the kids to the Mac and Cheese Festival here in AZ. (Which, by the way, was NOT nearly as cool as The Street Truck Festival last February OR The Italian Festival-Which goes without saying, I mean, after all, you can't beat an Italian festival..we're just like that ya know?!?! ;) Anywayz, I was surprised that there weren't even half as many mac vendors as there were street trucks and NO ONE and I do mean NO ONE'S mac and cheese was better than my brother's!!! (Even my sister said that, and she would NOT just say that, IF she thought someone's mac and cheese was better, she would just straight up tell him...that's the way she rolls!!! LOL)

Anywayz, there was a super cool photo op with this big mac and cheese bowl, so after I took a pic of the kids together and then a pic of each family unit together, and then I was like, okaaaaaaaaay now it's my turn and I jumped over and did my pose with the bowl...

Soooooooooooo after I got up and we all started to walk away, we hear a little voice say,

hey guys, LOOK AT ME...

I'M AUNT MARY!!!

We turn around and there is my little nephew Kyle totally imitating me!!! It was soooooooooo HILARIOUS!!! We all just completely busted up laughing and so did everyone standing around!!! It was such an epic moment!!! Nothing like your 3-year-old nephew imitating your craziness!!! HAHA!!!

Purple eyes!!!

So little O is realizing lately that certain things are for girls and certain things are for boys. Which, in this day in age is a GOOD thing to be realizing!!! Well first on for most on his list is PINK is for girls. Second, GLITTER is for girls! Any stuff animal that had glitter on its collar or any where else was given to SISTER!!! Well if pink is for girls, so is purple! AND blue, green, red, orange and brown are FOR BOYS!!! Weeeeeeeelllll I personally think that's being a little stingy with the color schemes since I happen to LOOOOOOOOVE COLORS!!!!

So I was like, well O girls can wear blue too!!! He was like, NOOOOO it's boys!!! So I was like, well if blue is for boys, then WHY are my eyes blue??? He looks at me with a glare and says, YOUR EYES ARE NOT BLUE AUNT MARY!!!! I'm like, LOOK AT THEM, they're blue!!!!! He's like, they are NOT!!! So i'm like, okaaaaaaaay fine, if they're NOT blue, what color are they then???? So he looks at my eyes, and he's looking and looking and looking and just staring at them, I thought he would back down and finally say, OH they are blue! Buuuuuuuut NO the kid just keeps staring and concentrating, then FINALLY with a look of triumph he says, PURPLE!!!

YOUR EYES ARE PURPLE!!!!

I mean, I gotta give the kid credit for coming up with that! Especially since when I was a kid, purple eyes would have made me VERY HAPPY!!! Blue eyes were pretty much my childhood-trial-of-the-faith!!! People would oooooh and ahhhhh over my eyes, buuuuuuuut all it meant to me was that people always gave me blue things!!! When my mom bought me and my sister clothes, she would almost always get us the same, but my sisters would be the beloved PINK and mine would be BLUE!!! I would wine, WHY can't I have pink???? Blue is boys!!! And my mom would say, because, you have blue eyes!!! and me, BUUUUUUUT blue is for BOYS and Theresa doesn't have PINK EYES, it's NOT fair!!!

Ironically, as and adult, my two favorite colors are PINK annnnnnnnd BLUE!!! Pink because, well, it's PIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINK!!! 😍 And blue because I finally realized WHY my mom kept putting me in it, I LOOOOOOK GOOD IN IT!!! Gotta love a color for doing that for one right?!?! LOL

BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT I like PURPLE too! Because, purple was my mom's favorite color and because it's for girls annnnnnnd BECAUSE I LOOK GOOD IN IT TOO!!!! AHAHAHAHAAAA!!! So if the kid says I have purple eyes, theeeeeeeeeeeeeennnn…

Sorry about that!!!

Sooooooo last weekend I took Odin to the splash pad at the Scottsdale Quarter, a VERY RITZY upscale shopping center, in Scottsdale. Now you have to understand that Scottsdale, also knowns SNOTTSdale, is a generally speaking, more wealthy city. While there are a few ghetto areas, its kinda like Glendale, most of its ghetto but there are some REALLY RITZY areas of Glendale that the public bathrooms actually aren't locked up with a code to enter, buuuuuuuuuut there far and few in between, while Scottsdale is the opposite, mostly ritzy with a FEW ghetto areas, with that being said, THE SCOTTSDALE QUARTER is a very ritzy area...Not that I'm intimidated by anyone's snootiness!!! LOL

.

So I take O to the Scottsdale Quarter, we're surrounded by all the Scottsdale Mom's and I'm just lounged out on a chair, totally chillaxing, reading the latest Adventure's In Odyssey book, WHEN...O just shouts to me:

"AUNT MARY,  

can I PEE on the lily pad?! say yes or no!"

I look around at all these snooty blonde mom's that look about to pass out upon his question and yell out, 

 "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"

He says, "oh ok, SORRY ABOUT THAT!!! 

I won't do it again!!!"

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!! I look around a all these Scottsdale Mom's aghast, it was hard to keep from busting up laughing, especially when Odin then felt it was his personal duty to go to every child and let them know, "No peeing in here guys, it's not allowed! We don't do that that guys, we don't pee on the lily pad!" AHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAA!!! I love that Kid!!!! 😍😍😍

Sooooooooooo this past Saturday eve I was making pumpkin-chocolate-chip cookies for our church's Thanksgiving feast the next day. (Finally got my hands on Sister Kathy Karlson's famous cookie recipe..waiting my WHOLE LIFE FOR IT!!! Hee, hee!!!) So i'm just working away when my nephew Odin walks up!!!

He says, "What are you making Aunt Mary?!" 

I'm about to respond back to him that I was making cookies, BUUUUUUUUUUUUUT... before I could actually even respond back to him, he interrupts me and says,

 WHAT ARE YOU MAKING AUNT MARY???

 A MESS???

I just busted up laughing, IF YOU KNOW ME IN THE KITCHEN...then YOU KNOW...it's getting crazy!!! There's two three things about me you should know: 1. I don't work quickly 2. I don't work neatly 

3. I DO WORK

Sooooo of course I had to bring him a treat, a TEXAS-sized donut!!! Hee, hee!!! 

Annnnnnnnnd he is reading it through AGAIN and is already on 2 Kings!!! GOOD JOB JOSEPH!!! Grandma would be soooooooooooo HAPPY AND PROUD OF YOU!!! She loved reading her Bible!!! I bet she's in heaven right now shaking a GOLDEN TAMBOURINE!!! Saying,

So one morning recently, we were out doing our early morning hike and for whatever reason, Odie was being rude to me...can't quite remember WHY at the moment, most likely because I was telling him to do something he didn't want to do...LOL!!! So I'm like, Say sorry for being rude! He says, NO! I'm like, You say sorry to me! Once again, NO! I'm like, NO! SAY IT! Weeeeeeellll we're go back and forth, both being equally stubborn. So when he isn't in school, I take him swimming in the afternoons, I'm like, YOU SAY SORRY  for being rude AUNT MARY, or else we're NOT going swimming later! 

So he looks at me with a HUGE GRIN and says,

 SORRY AUNT RUDE!!!

Sooooooo there you have it my friends, JUST CALL ME, 

AUNT RUDE!!!

AHAHAHAAAAAA!!! Such a little stinker!!! Just kinda, IMPROVISED what I told hem to say!!! LOL Annnnnnnnnnd YES, he did win the battle, I was laughing too hard to continue it!!!! BAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!! Oh man, I sooooo love this high maintenance little blessing!!!!

I'm like, really? REALLY??? I JUUUUUUUST WANNA STIR SOMETHING...without worrying about the stirring object melting...BAAHAHAHA!!! Buuuuuuuuut you can be sure to find them in random spots all over the house!!! I have to go on a scavenger hunt if I wanna cook around here!!! LOL

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeelllll at least we know, DISCIPLINE reigns in our home...heh, heh!!!

Thanksgiving Day 2016!!!!

Yesturday was an AWESOME-funnnnnnnn Thanksgiving Day!!! We started the morning off with the Turkey Trot in Fountain Hills. Met up with my sis, MJ, Odin, Sis. Abbott, Janelle and Everleene from my church! It was GREAT FUNNNNN! Next year I am sooooo RUNNING this and NOT just doing the fitness walk...which was still funnnnn!!! Annnnnnd I'm gonna go ALL out with my Turkey Trot outfit...hee, hee!!! Just wait, Turkey headband, Thanksgiving Turkey Tutu over my skirt!!! OH YEAH!!!

VERY, very, VERRRRRRRRY excited to have my FIRST marathon ribbon...

SOOOOOOOO going up on my wall!!!

 Managed to talk the big sis into it THE NIGHT BEFORE...wooooohooooooo!!!

 There MAAAAAAAAAAAY have been ONE person that wasn't exited about this morning activity tho...bahahahaha!!!

Afterwards we went and celebrated at DJ's Bagel shop in Fountain Hills...YUMMMMM!!!

After that, I was going to go hiking buuuuuuuuuuuuut opted out for a NAP instead...LOL...Gotta get ready for SHOPPING TIME!!! Hee, hee!!! After my nap I headed over to Dad's house to start setting up and baking stuff...

 

I liked our table get up, we ain't fancy folk but festive and funnnnn is our style!!! My mom's picture was in the middle of it all...a constant reminder of her there with us! Her greatest fear about dying was leaving us and that her grandchildren wouldn't know her...BUT they will...her legacy is continuing on...She planted the seeds, we'll never forget!!!

Before dinner started, I read to the kids, "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" I just LOVE being a Auntie!!!

Eating, talking, laughing and having a great time together!!!

I pretty much wore this outfit for the whole past week...LOVE IT!!!

 The one thing we forgot this year...

My family wouldn't let me use it...they thought I would get drunk...LOL!!!!

More fun, playing, walks, desserts, leftover distribution and CLEAN UP!!!

Feeling extra festive and happy!!!

Annnnnnnnnnnd NOW SHOPPING TIME!!! NOW for me, as soon as Thanksgiving is over, its CHRISTMAS time!!! Soooooooo being the very festive person that I am, it was TIME to get all decked out...wooooohoooooo!!!  It was a blast and I'm definitely GLAD that I took that nap!!! We went to Walmart, The mall and the outlets...where my sis waited and the LONGEST EVERRRRRR LINE to get in the Kate Spade store...she got some cute stuff tho!!!

Overall, it was a great day!!! I had been worried about being sad without my mom here, buuuuuuuuut, I was to busy to get sad, just moments of thankful reflection on her life with us and gratefulness for where she now is!!!

Is that not the sweetest thing everrrrr?!!? I'm sure the fact that he is awaiting a promised batch of my "World-Famous-9.9-give-Paradise-bakery-a-run-for-their-money-Chocolate-Chip-Cookies" have NOTHING to do with it!!! Heh, heh!!! ;)))

Joseph's RULE!!!

Sooooooooooo as I've been telling you all, my brother John and I made homemade ravioli for Easter, annnnnnnnnd they were soooooooooo GOOD, anyway, it just sooooooooo happens that my nephew Joseph LOOOOOOVES ravioli!!!

So yesterday he a plate full of them, and let me tell you, FOR JOSEPH to actually eat that much is a BIG DEAL, he's NOT a big eater!!! So then his mom comes outside and is like, Joseph, did you eat that ravioli that  you dropped on the floor earlier? (Apparently, she had been looking for it to clean up) Joseph was like, YUP, I sure did!!!! Soooooooo we all started laughing!!! And i'm like, YEAH, that's MY BOY!!! Cuz I DESPISE when THE FOOD I MAKE GETS WASTED...I don't care if its store bought, BUUUUUUT IF I MADE IT WITH MY HANDS...yeah...

So we're all laughing and Joseph says, well the reason why I ate it is because I have a rule about ravioli!!! We're like, a RULE????

He says yes, a RULE!!! It's,

The NO RAVIOLI LEFT BEHIND RULE!!!!

Hello Kitty!!!!

Soooooooooooooo this past month, I was an amazing auntie and waited with my niece for 3.5 hours to go see the HELLO KITTY CAFE VAN!!!!

Was it worth it???
NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Buuuuuut after waiting and hour I was COMMITED!!! LOL
 

Annnnnnd plus now I can add it to my list of totally RAD things I've accomplished in life!!! :)

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnd LOOK the hub caps even have pink bows on it!!! SOOOOOOOOOOOOO CUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTE!!! Awwwwwwwww!!!!

Annnnnnnnnnnd I found out that their were WAAAAAAAY crazier, ADULT Hello Kitty fans than ME!!! I mean, I'm like, MILD compared to these folks!!! The girl in the above pic was DRESSED like a Hello Kitty-Kat, the girl behind me was ACTUALLY TALKING ABOUT HOW HER DREAM IS TO GET MARRIED AT HELLO KITTY LAND IN JAPAN!!! Yes, there really IS a hello kitty land and YES, I want to go there, buuuuuuuuuut NOOOOOO I don't want to get married there!!! I mean, COME ON PEOPLE!!!

And then the mom in front of me, her daughter has to go to the bathroom, so she just PICKS HER UP, and has go by the tree!!!! I was like ummmm, We're in SCOTTSDALE, THE SCOTTSDALE QUARTER, this is NOT the best place just have your daughter PEE on the rocks..."I'm jus sayin!" I woulda GLADLY saved your spot for you in line had you SIMPLY ASKED ME!!! You shoulda seen MJ tho, her mouth was hanging open, then the two of us could NOT stop laughing!!!! AHAHAHAHA!!!

Finally we're there, and our sales lady was this adorable lil Asian chick...Asians LOVE Hello Kitty, she was created by one of their people!!!

Stultz just couldn't UNDERSTAND WHY I would pay $3 for a water bottle!!! I'm like, Jonathon, its PINK, Its HELLO KITTY, and its in the SHAPE OF A BOW, need we ask ANY MORE QUESTIONS???

Aunt Mary IS...

This blog post is by special request of my nephew Joseph!!! I was laughing so hard after this incident happened he said, your going to post about this on your blog, AREN'T YOU AUNT MARY??? I was like, do you want me too???? He said YES!!! Pretty, pretty please Aunt Mary, WITH A CHERRY ON TOP!!! Who can resist a plea like that??? I'm telling you all, THE CHERRY gets me EVERY TIME!!! AHAHAHA!!! This is how the story goes...

So the other day, Saturday, when I was treating the kids to free samples at Costco, Mary Jo had said she would get the younger kids buckled in while I was getting my purse from my room. So a few minutes later, when I walked out to the car, the kids were all buckled in and waiting for me. While they were waiting, my nephew Joseph was singing a little song he had written about his Aunt Mary while he was waiting for her to come out to the car. It went like this...

AHAHAHAHA!!! Okaaaaaaaay before anyone wants to start judging and reprimanding me for my car being a mess, I want to say TWO THINGS!!!

#1. Everything in the back of my car are from CHILDREN THAT ARE NOT MY OWN!!! Nieces, Nephews, Children I babysit, Sunday School kids, etc, etc...Sooooooooo obviously, their parents haven't been teaching them to pick up after themselves... (jk! Jk parents! ;)

#2. It was part of my New Years Resolution this year to get my car cleaned and organized AND to keep it that way...I would like to emphasize on the that says, BY THE END OF THE YEAR...I still have two whole months after this month to accomplish this goal...AND I WILL DO IT!!! I have completed just about ALL of my other New Years Resolutions!!!
